1. Radical Collaboration®

Radical Collaboration is designed to teach people five very practical and immediately useful skills essential to building more effective collaborative relationships between individuals and within teams and organizations. The skills are:

  • Collaborative Intention
  • Truthfulness
  • Self-Accountability
  • Self-Awareness
  • Interest-Based Problem Solving and Negotiating

Objectives:
Radical Collaboration is guaranteed to improve effectiveness in:

  • Creating high-trust collaborative environments
  • Reducing the cost of conflict in dollars, time and lost creativity
  • Turning adversarial relationships into partnerships
  • Making working relationships more productive

Who should attend?
Radical Collaboration is for anyone whose circumstances have the potential for disharmony, misunderstandings and conflict, and who would like to improve their effectiveness. It is also particularly helpful for individuals responsible for creating more collaborative environments within a team or organization.

Characteristics:
Radical Collaboration is a three-day, highly interactive workshop. It is offered both as an open enrollment workshop, and as in-house training. It is particularly effective for established teams trying to build more collaborative relationships.  The workshop can accommodate groups as small as 12 or as large as 100. It has been presented to groups as diverse as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Brio Toys of North America, the Mountain States Employers Association and the U.S. Department of Defense.

Price:

  • Open enrollment: $1,200 per person
  • In-house: $21,600 for up to 18 people, plus an additional $595 for each person more than 18

2. Radical Collaboration Trainer Certification

Radical Collaboration Trainer Certification is a seven-day course designed to teach individuals how to lead the three-day Radical Collaboration workshop. It is also a helpful follow-up experience for individuals who have taken the three-day Radical Collaboration workshop and want to strengthen their own skills or create a more collaborative workplace environment.

Objectives:
This course certifies individuals to teach the three-day Radical Collaboration workshop and to strengthen their own skill at building collaborative relationships.

Who should attend?
This is a particularly helpful course for external and internal consultants and trainers who want to build more collaborative workplace environments, or who want to teach the three-day Radical Collaboration workshop. It will benefit coaches who are helping others become more collaborative or more skillful at conflict resolution.

Characteristics:
This program is a very hands-on, interactive course. Participants prepare and deliver training modules from the three-day Radical Collaboration workshop. They are videotaped and receive feedback based upon their presentation. The three-day Radical Collaboration workshop is a prerequisite to this course.

3. Element B: Behavior Certification™

This two-day workshop is designed for individuals who desire a deeper and fuller understanding of FIRO theory and the Element B: Behavior instrument for their personal use and/or for use professionally in training, leadership development, team building, consulting and coaching. 

Objectives:

  • Learn more about FIRO theory -- the foundation for the development of the Element B: Behavior instrument
  • Skillfully administer and interpret the Element B: Behavior instrument
  • Facilitate interpretive feedback sessions with individuals and groups
  • Explore practical applications for using the Element B: Behavior instrument
  • Practice your interpretation skills

Who should attend?
Managers, team leaders, OD & HR professionals, trainers, consultants, coaches and people seeking a greater understanding of FIRO theory.

Characteristics:
This hands-on workshop will increase your skill in administering and interpreting the Element B instrument. It is a highly interactive workshop presenting an integrated, congruent approach to administering and interpreting Element B: Behavior instrument as a means of improving individual and team performance. Through presentations, scientifically valid assessments, group feedback and application activities, participants experience how open, non-defensive relationships can improve individual and organizational effectiveness.  Attendees also learn techniques to increase self-awareness and self-accountability. This program was developed by Will Schutz, PhD., an internationally recognized authority on human interaction and teamwork and creator of the Element B: Behavior instrument and FIRO theory. The Element B: Behavior instrument is being used worldwide and is available in English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian, Finnish, Dutch, Swedish, Japanese and Korean. A European English Edition is also available, and it will be available soon in Danish, Norwegian and German.

4. The Human Element®

This five-day course allows individuals and teams to focus on the underlying causes of behavior that block successful performance. Going far beyond traditional behavioral approaches, this program is designed to equip participants with the skills to transform groups and organizations into motivated, empowered productive units. In this course participants explore how and why they behave in certain ways and how their behavior, feelings and self-concept affect personal and team relations, leadership, decision-making, conflict resolution and life transitions.

Objectives:

  • Greater teamwork; individuals align to maximize team performance
  • Increased self-awareness about the participants’ behaviors that impact relationships
  • Improved communication skill and openness
  • Building a more trusting environment
  • Increasing individual accountability

Who should attend?
Leaders, managers, team leaders, OD & HR professionals, change agents, trainers, consultants, individuals experiencing life transitions, and people seeking a thorough grounding in FIRO theory and human behavior in organizations.

Characteristics:
This course provides a simple, common framework for understanding ourselves and our relationships. It includes brief lectures, experiential activities, scientifically based self-assessment questionnaires, group feedback, skills practice, and application in the areas of teamwork, performance appraisal, decision making and leadership. This program was developed by Will Schutz, PhD., an internationally recognized authority on human interaction and teamwork and creator of the FIRO Element B instrument and FIRO theory. Its elegant design is based on nearly 50 years of research into human interaction and organizational life.

5. The Human Element Trainer Certification

This course is an intensive twelve-day seminar aimed at deepening the participants’ understanding of FIRO theory and the concepts and applications of The Human Element workshop for individuals, teams and organizations.

The program trains participants to deliver these concepts.

Objectives:

  • Increase familiarity and competence in administering FIRO Instruments and the Team Compatibility Index activity
  • Refine group leadership and group facilitation and process skills
  • Increase personal growth and become more self-aware through experiential activities and feedback
  • Prepare to teach three- or five-day The Human Element courses

Who should attend?
In-house HR and OD personnel, private consultants and trainers, people in executive or management positions wanting to increase their leadership and facilitation skills, and those seeking further personal and professional development.

Characteristics:
This program is a very hands-on, interactive course. Participants prepare and deliver training modules from the five-day Human Element workshop and receive guidance and feedback about their presentation of the material. The Human Element workshop is a prerequisite to the advanced course. Upon successful completion of the course, participants become certified to conduct Human Element seminars.
